Betsy at TEDx

Betsy Cohen pulls on both her personal family stories as well as the stories of those people in the community she’s touched to give her inaugural TEDx presentation. Betsy’s work has touched the lives of men and women across multiple industries and experience levels.

Maybe you’ll be her next success story!

In the 1850’s, Betsy Cohen's distant relatives came to the US from Czechoslovakia because they were fleeing being drafted into a war. Her dad’s side of the family started a distillery that later closed; her mom’s side started a bakery that became large and lasted through many generations. Through her family’s stories and her work with immigrant populations, who have come here to start their own lives and businesses, she shares their resilience and hopes for their American dreams.

This talk was given at a TEDx event in St. Louis, Missouri and was officially released February 7, 2024.

Recent Job-Seeker Testimonials

  • I want to thank you for your book "Welcome to the U.S.A.-You're Hired!" I have recently started my journey to get back into the work force. As a foreign-born woman I could not feel but scared and insecure about the situation and reading the first statement of your book “To the success of foreign-born job seekers as they make the U.S.A. a better place for all of us”, made me feel embraced, valued and supported. The book contains incredibly useful technical information (resume, types of interviews, the importance of networking, etc.) but everything is supported by such a thoughtful and caring approach that is so important for human beings to thrive. I feel like, with this book, you are not only teaching your audience, but you are also caring for this community, and I want to thank you for that.
